READINGS:

1R: 1 JN 5: 5- 13   PS 147:12-13, 14-15, 19-20
GOS : LK 5:12-16

The First Reading reminds us that the the proof that Jesus is the son of God is given by God/Holy Spirit himself.
St. John also enlists two more proofs, viz, water and blood. He exhorts us to accept God's revelation in faith.
In fact faith means man's filial response to the revelation of God.

The gospel passage can be reflected upon from two perspectives.
1. As an instance of multiple epiphany in a broad sense since throughout the week the church has proposed such readings.
2. The miracle itself teaches us two aspects

a.) Jesus stretches out his hand and cures the most desperate case. the implication is that, in God's eyes there is no " gone case". If anyone comes even in the worst situation God has a way out.

b.) Jesus suggests to the leper the "normal"/"ordinary " way of getting cured and freed from the stigma attached to leprosy by asking him to to the temple priest.
How many times we desire "abnormal" / " extraordinary " ,on the spot , miraculous ways from God ?

Message: Take a clue from this miracle and stop clamouring too much for esoteric experiences.Learn to accept normal routes.
