According to Mark the first miracle is to caste out the demon. Why?
Because the Jews/ people of Jesus’ time believed that all the sicknesses, difficulties and infirmities are due to the demon or devil. Therefore Mathew presents Jesus as the saviour of people.
Savior who can drive away evil spirit and has the authority over the evil power.
Do i really believe that Jesus has the absolute power ?
Or, do i still rely on subsidiary powers?
The first reading gives us the beautiful example of personal/intimate prayer.
Hannah pours “herself out” to god and lo her prayers are answered.
Do i really pray trustingly and with complete abandon?
