READINGS:

Gos : MK 4 : 35 - 41.

THE DISCIPLES IN TODAY'S  GOSPEL, FILLED WITH AWE  SAY TO ONE ANOTHER,
" WHO THEN IS THIS, THAT EVEN WIND AND SEA OBEY HIM ? "

WHAT ARE THE LESSONS TO BE DRAWN FROM THIS INCIDENT ?

1. IT IS IN THE CONTEXT OF A STORM THAT THE DISCIPLES REALIZED THAT JESUS HAS SUCH POWER EVEN OVER THE SEA AND WINDS !
DO I ALLOW JESUS TO REVEAL HIS IMMENSE  POWER ' IN MY  STORMS AND WINDS ' ?

2. WHY DID THE DISCIPLES  GET  SO AFRAID ?

BECAUSE THEY HAD THE EARLIER EXPERIENCES OF ROUGH SEAS AND STORMY WINDS.

IS IT NOT TRUE THAT MOST OF MY PRESENT FEARS ARE THE RESULT OF MY PAST EXPERIENCES EVEN TO THE EXTENT OF FORGETTING THE ACTIVE PRESENCE OF JESUS ?

3. WHY JESUS ASKS, ' HAVE YOU NO FAITH ? '

  A. BECAUSE THEY FAILED TO REPOSE THEIR TRUST IN JESUS DESPITE HIS EARLIER MIRACLES.

  B. THEY TOTALLY FORGOT THAT JESUS WAS IN THEIR BOAT.

HAVE I FORGOTTEN THAT, JESUS IS IN MY  ' BOAT ' ?

IN THE FIRST READING ,NOTICE IN THE FIRST PART ,THE FEROCIOUS ANGER OF KING DAVID ABOUT THE ' CULPRIT '

WE GET SOOOOOOOOOO ANGRY ABOUT OTHERS' FAULTS. ISN'T IT ?

BUT WHEN PROPHET NATHAN PINS DOWN DAVID, HE HAD THE COURAGE AS WELL AS THE HUMILITY TO ACCEPT THE GUILT AND MAKE AMENDS.

LET ME DEVELOP THE REQUISITE COURAGE TO ACCEPT MY FAULTS AND MAKE AMENDS.
