READINGS:

1 R : 2 SAM 7  : 4 - 17.
Ps   88 : 4 - 5, 27 - 28, 29 - 30.
Gos : MK 4 : 1 - 20.

THE PARABLE OF THE SOWER, ACCORDING TO MANY ANALYSTS IS ORIGINALLY ADDRESSED TO THOSE WHO PROCLAIMED THE GOSPEL.

THE CIRCUMSTANCES WERE SUCH THERE WAS ALWAYS A POSSIBILITY THAT THE PROCLAIMERS WOULD FEEL DEJECTED AND DESPAIRED.

THEREFORE JESUS TOLD THEM AND TELLS US TODAY THAT THE WORD OF GOD SHOULD ALWAYS BE PROCLAIMED.
REMEMBER ST. PAUL'S WORDS THAT THE WORD OF GOD IS A TWO EDGED SWORD.

REMEMBER ISIAH'S WORDS THAT THE WORD OF GOD NEVER RETURNS WITHOUT BEARING FRUIT.

THE LISTENERS OF THE WORD OF GOD ALSO HAVE A STRONG MESSAGE:

THE WORD OF GOD DOES NOT FAIL US. WE FAIL THE WORD OF GOD. WE FAIL THE WORD OF GOD BY NOT HAVING THE RIGHT DISPOSITIONS.

SHOULDN'T I EXAMINE HOW I PROCLAIM AND HOW I RECEIVE THE SEES, THE WORD OF GOD ?

IN THE FIRST READING, DAVID THINKS THAT HE HAS TO BUILD A HOUSE FOR THE LORD AND THUS DO SOMETHING FOR THE LORD.
THE LORD THROUGH PROPHET NATHAN TELLS HIM THAT IT IS HE WHO WILL BUILD A HOUSEHOLD FOR HIM AND NEVER WITHDRAW HIS FAVOR FROM HIM.

AM I IN GOD'S FAVOR ? IF NOT WHY ?
