Novena of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary - 1st Day

Aug. 30: The 9 days  Novena for Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary started on Thursday, 30th August, at the Corpus Christi Church -Moodbidri. V. Rev. Fr. Austin Peres –the Parish Priest  celebrated the Holy Mass at 6.45 a.m.

Today’s theme was Mother Mary is an inspiration to accept the vocation of family life, today’s message was Family Life is also a call from God and today’s intention is to pray for all families who are suffering from problems & difficulties.

The future of mankind depends on the families of today.  Like the children of today are the future of the nation, the families of today are bringing up the citizens of Tomorrow.  Therefore as Mother Mary gladly accepted the family life which God proposed and lived it pleasing God, let us be inspired by her to accept the family life as a blessing from God and live it, giving respect to each family member with love & patience.

Novena Prayers were recited after the mass on the Church front yard with the “flower offering ceremony” while singing  “Sakkad Sangatha Melyam, mariek hogalsiyam”. Sweets were distributed to children and adults present for the novena.

Daily morning mass takes place at 6.30 a.m. but during the Novena the mass will be at 6.45 a.m. for the children’s convenience.
