Moodbidri, 29 September 2024: Corpus Christi Church organized a seminar on "The Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist and Honouring the Saints in the Catholic Church," at the Holy Rosary High School Hall, Moodbidri. The seminar was led by Rev. Fr. Ronald Serrao, Rector of St. Joseph Seminary, Jeppu, Mangalore.
The event began at 9:30 a.m., followed by breakfast. Rev. Fr. Onil D’Souza welcomed the resource person with a bouquet of flowers. The seminar saw the participation of 100 attendees from Moodbidri and Siddakatte churches.
Fr. Serrao emphasized the importance of the Eucharistic Mass, explaining the significance of Christ's real presence in the Holy Mass. He further elaborated on various forms of Eucharistic devotion, including Adoration to the blessed sacrament,Eucharistic processions, Eucharistic feasts, etc illustrating their role in deepening faith and devotion.
The session also provided an opportunity for participants to engage in a question-and-answer segment, enhancing the interactive nature of the event.
In the second part of the seminar, Fr. Serrao focused on the lives of saints, offering examples of those who served in India, such as St. Mother Teresa, St. Mary Boavardy, St. Thomas, and St. Francis Xavier. He also highlighted Indian saints including St. Devasahayam, St. Joseph Vaz, St. Alphonsa, and St. Kuriakose.
The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks from Mrs. Celine D’Souza, 21 Ayog convenor. Following the session, the Holy Eucharistic Mass was celebrated by Fr. Serrao at 12:15 p.m., and the program ended with lunch.
