Sep. 29: The Carmel Ward Meeting took place in the house of Mr. Edward and Mrs. Jacintha D’Souza of Saldanha compound on 26th September, 2010. 20 members were present for the meeting. The meeting was centered on sharing the good news of the Lord in seven steps. The meeting started sharp at 4.00 p.m. Mrs. Jacintha D’Souza welcomed the members for the Meeting.
John Menezes called on Jesus to be among them with a small prayer. Reading for the day was chosen from the Letters of St. Paul to Galatians-Chapter 6. verses 1-18: Bear one another’s burden.
Then the minutes of the last meeting were read by Mrs Vidya D’Costa and approved by members.
Next was the discussion on the jobs in hand and new jobs. Four job discussions took place”
1. Elder’s Day on October 3rd at 10.30 a.m. mass
2. Catholic Sabha – Elocution competition for children and adults.
3. Contribution to the house being built by Vincent de Paul Society for one of the Ward member.
4. Mass for the aged in the house in the month of October.
Then the teachers of the Ward were honoured by presenting them a rose. All sang “Happy Birthday” to Vidya D’costa who will celebrate her birthday on the 29th of September and a rose was presented to her.
Next Carmel Vado Jamath will be held in the house of Mrs. Meera Miranda’s.
The meeting concluded with tea and snacks to the members by the host family.
