The Carmel Ward Annual Feast 2023 took place on July 16, 2023, at the Holy Rosary College Hall in Carmel Convent. The event aimed to foster unity among ward members and celebrate the divine blessings of Mother Mary of Carmel. The day commenced with a soulful liturgy in the morning, wherein the ward members participated fervently.
 
The festivities began at 6p.m with a prayer and floral tribute to Mother Mary of Carmel, followed by a delightful welcome dance performed by the enthusiastic children. The event boasted the presence of esteemed guests, including Most Rev Fr Onil D'Souza, Mr. Vincent D'Souza, and Mrs. Celine D'Souza, along with the ward gurkar, Mr. Avish Saldhana, secretary Ms. Reshel Fernandes, ward representatives Mr. Kevin D'Souza and Mrs. Jyoti Noronha, and SCC coordinator, Mrs. Savitha Ranger.

Mr. Avish Saldhana, the gurkar, extended a warm welcome to all the guests, setting the stage for a splendid celebration. Mrs. Jyothi Noronha, the ward representative, presented the annual report for the year 2022-23, highlighting the significant achievements and events that had taken place during this period, with a strong emphasis on unity among the members.
 
During the event, a special felicitation was accorded to Mr. John Menezes, the ex-gurkar, for his outstanding leadership during his tenure as Vice President of the parish for two terms. Additionally, four students who showcased exceptional academic performance in their second PUC and Class 10 examinations were commended for their achievements. Ms. Reshel Fernandes, an accomplished writer and orator at the International, National, and State levels, and Mr. Aaron Mendonca, a State-level sportsperson, were also felicitated for their remarkable accomplishments.
 
The event's highlight was a thought-provoking speech delivered by Rev Fr Onil D'Souza, who expressed his appreciation for the ward members and emphasized the significance of the day, dedicated to honoring Mother Mary of Carmel.
 
Following the speech, the SCC coordinator, Mrs. Savitha Ranger, expressed her gratitude to everyone involved in making the event a grand success. The cultural programs included lively dance performances by children and a skit conveying the importance of respecting parents, inspired by Mother Mary's nurturing nature.
 
Spot games were conducted to engage the audience, and Rev. Fr. Onil D'Souza blessed the food with a prayer before dinner. Individual performances by children added to the joyous atmosphere.
 
The event was seamlessly compered by Ms. Reshel Fernandes, the secretary, and Mr. Vian D'Souza, who conducted the cultural program with their eloquent words, keeping the audience engaged throughout.
 
The Annual Feast of Carmel Ward 2023 exemplified the spirit of togetherness among its members, seeking blessings and success from Mother Mary of Carmel. It was a day filled with joy, unity, and heartfelt celebrations that will be cherished by the community for years to come.
