On September 3rd, 2023, the vibrant community of St. Mother Teresa Ward came together to celebrate their annual feast at the gracious residence of Maxim and Babita Pinto, starting at 12 noon. The day was filled with festivities and spiritual reverence.
The festivities commenced with a spirited welcome dance, performed by the talented Sanvy D'Souza and Sianna Pinto, setting a joyful tone for the event. The ward Gurkarn, Mrs. Celine Pinto, extended a warm welcome to the esteemed guests, including Rev. Fr. Onil D'Souza, Mr. Vincent D'Souza, Mrs. Celine D'Souza, Mrs. Theresa Cardoza, and Sr. Leena, with roses, fostering an atmosphere of joy and unity.
The event began with a homage to the Holy Bible, followed by a heartfelt prayer service led by Mrs. Ivy Serrao and her team. The novena prayer to St. Mother Teresa was recited, seeking her intercession on the gathering, invoking a sense of spirituality.
Mrs. Reshma Pinto, the ward's secretary, presented the annual report for the year 2022-2023, highlighting the exceptional service rendered to the church by ward members. Recognition was also given to three outstanding students who excelled in their second PUC and Class 10 examinations.
A special honor was bestowed upon Mr. Sandesh P.G, a ward member and newly appointed circle inspector for Moodbidri region, which was eloquently presented by Ms. Melba Pinto. Additionally, the teachers of the ward were honored with roses, acknowledging their dedication.
Rev. Fr. Onil D'Souza delivered an inspiring speech on the importance of unity and active participation in ward and church activities. Mrs. Babita Pinto, the ward representative, expressed her gratitude through a heartfelt vote of thanks, recognizing the collective efforts that made the event a resounding success.
The festivities continued with captivating dance performances by the talented children of the ward, a Bible quiz led by Mrs. Anita Cutinha, and a delightful performance by the gifted singer, Mr. Royston Lobo. The day concluded with a thought-provoking drama titled "The Road to Heaven is Through the Neighbor's House," which beautifully portrayed the unity and love within the community.
The program was skillfully hosted by Mrs. Jacinta D'Souza, and Sr. Shushma of Morning Star Convent graced the gathering with a heartfelt prayer before the delicious lunch was served, marking the end of a memorable day filled with spirituality, unity, and celebration.
